Fantastic camp....best of the many I have been to. Great location on the Chesapeake Bay, well maintained facilities, awesome staff, large variety of program activities both day and evening, and best camp food I have had. Looking forward to going back next year!
This is a BSA camp that has a lot to offer. Its aquatic program is great! The food is very good and they have a salad bar every night with a lot of variety. I counselors show enthusiasm. There is a long walk between areas, so you really need to bring bikes. They are working on updating the latrines. You have a beautiful view of the Chesapeake from many of the campsite.
If there was a 2 and half stars I would rate it that the trading post was nice the campfire/introduction was pretty funny I loved Spider-Man if you have the chose and your a brown sea go to it the staff was very nice but the bugs were bad I got 3 bug bits and I wore bug spray the food was sometimes cold sometimes hot but mid at the very very best the real mid middle but the views were nice but staying here for the week is not for me I get homesick a lot but if you do not get homesick you could go but the weather could change on a dime it could be sunny one minute and thunder the next the shooting sports were good and I got some merit badges witch was helpful I could not make it to the 4th July fireworks so idk about that but the walking is so so so soooooo terrible I walked more were than I hade in a month the tents are ok too like there mid and the cabin is not that good but I got some fun memories here but it’s not that great but it is very very hot hear in the summer so wear shorts and put on bug spray
My favorite BSA camp for weekend camping for over a decade. It's beautiful, the cabins and campsites are great, and the activities are plentiful. Plus you can't beat a hike along the Bay's shoreline. Even with any many trips as I've taken there, I know that there is more to explore within the wilderness area and other campsites. Truly a great place to go!
Going to Rodney had some fun experiences like making new friends and tubing on the bay but my camp counselors were horrible and made me and other kids swim in 60 degree weather and there was no heater plus it was windy and rainy but ignored that.
Excellent staff. Great selection of Merit Badge Courses. Beautiful views of the Bay. Memorable Campfire Shows. Overall a great experience for Scouts!
Only reason I am rating Four Stars is because the Mess Hall food is good and plentiful, but could be better, and the seating of troops better organized.
